My Story

I am a white-presenting, cisgender queer woman with hidden disabilities; my pronouns are she/her/hers/ella. I identify as a hybrid-Latina. I was born in Brazil and raised in the US and Mexico.

I have been practicing social work and psychotherapy for over thirty years in the Bay Area primarily working with women, youth and Latinx and LGBTQQ communities. For the past 11 years I taught Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy as well as founded and ran the Sin Fronteras program at UC Berkeley’s School of Social Welfare.

I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from UC San Diego, my MSW from UC Berkeley, an MFA from Mills College, and a certification in Narrative Therapy at the Dulwich Centre.

Outside of the therapy office, I love walking my dogs, flower-gazing, reading, and binge-watching TV series. I am an aspiring collage artist and a frequent spinner of ideas.
